My journey into this work didn’t start with a business plan — it started in a school. I was working as a school nurse when I began to see the same issue over and over again: children being sent home because of head lice, families stressed, embarrassed, and overwhelmed, and schools struggling to manage it. I watched my students miss class, parents miss work, and households fall into panic over something that really just needed proper care, education, and patience.

I realized that sending kids home wasn’t solving the problem, it was only adding to it, & I knew there had to be a better way. That’s when I began developing my own safe, non-toxic, effective method for removing head lice. I took what I was learning in real time, and turned it into a process that worked, not just once, but consistently.
In 2012, I officially started Nit Nurses, and what began as a small local service quickly grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined.
Over the years, I’ve owned and operated Nit Nurses in Virginia, Maryland, New Mexico, and Tennessee, working hands-on with families, schools, and communities. I’ve seen the fear, the embarrassment, and the relief when someone finally says, “Thank you, I didn’t know what to do.” That’s the moment I knew this work truly mattered.
As the business grew, I realized something else: this work doesn’t just change lives for families, it can change lives for the people who do it. I saw how this skill could create freedom, flexibility, and financial independence. Not everyone wants a traditional job, and not everyone thrives in one. But many people thrive when they’re given the tools to build something of their own.
That’s why I created the Nit Nurses Head Lice Specialist Training & Certification Program — to teach others how to confidently build their own service, using proven methods, real experience, and a system that actually works. This isn’t theory. This is knowledge built from years in the field, from real homes, real clients, and real challenges. Whether you want to work from home, a tiny shed in your back yard, a monthly rental salon suite, or your own salon style business model, this course is built to assist you in your success.

My goal is simple: to help others create opportunity, stability, and purpose — while providing a service that truly helps people. If you’re here, it means you’re ready to learn something meaningful and take control of your future. And I’m honored to help guide you through that journey.
